WOMEN’S DIVISION 1 TOP 10 RANKED TEAMS REMAIN UNCHANGED IN RANKING #10 OF THE SEASON
TROY, Mich. – (February 14, 2023) – No. 1 ranked Liberty University (15-1-1-0) had a bye this past weekend. The Flames will host No. 5 Adrian College (21-7-0-0) this weekend. No. 2 ranked Minot State University (18-7-1-1) swept No. 13 ranked Lindenwood University (5-16-0-1), 8-2 and 4-1. The Beavers travel to No. 3 Midland University (22-4-1-3). The Warriors swept No. 12 ranked Jamestown University (9-16-2-1), 5-0 and 4-0. No. 4 ranked Indiana Tech (24-3-1-0) travels to St. Louis to take on No. 8 ranked Maryville University (12-11-1-3) in a two game series.
The Women’s Midwest College Hockey League has 7 (of 8) member teams ranked, while the Central Collegiate Women’s Hockey Association has 6 (of 12) of its member teams ranked, the Western Women’s Collegiate Hockey League has 1 (of 6), and the East Coast Women’s Hockey League has 1 (of 2) of its member teams ranked.
The computer ranking will determine the 10 teams that qualify for the 2023 ACHA Women’s Division 1 National Championships, which will include the following three automatic bids:
- (CCWHA) Central Collegiate Women’s Hockey Association
- (WWCHL) Western Women’s Collegiate Hockey League
- (WMCHL) Women’s Midwest College Hockey League
A total of 31 teams are competing in Women’s Division 1 this season, including four new teams: University of Jamestown, Montana State University, University of Wyoming, and Lake Superior State University.
The ACHA uses two computer rankings, Ranking A (Wins with goal differential of 6) and Ranking B (Wins with maximum goal differential of 1) and come up with an average of the two rankings. This is the first year we are only using computer rankings.
There has been a total of 9 schools that have won the ACHA Women’s Division 1 National Championship:

- Wisconsin (2 Times)
- Michigan State (2)
- Robert Morris (2)
- Lindenwood (4)
- Northeastern
- Minnesota
- Miami (3)
- Liberty (5)
The 2023 ACHA National Championships presented by FloHockey will be played from March 16 through March 21, 2023 at the New England Sports Center in Marlborough, Massachusetts. All five divisions, in the same building at the same time, for the first time with more than 1,500 players from 72 teams — Men’s Division 1, 2, and 3, and Women’s Divisions 1 and 2 — will converge upon the Marlborough area to compete in more than 100 games. The ACHA Women’s Division I National Championships presented by FloHockey will have ten teams competing beginning on March 16th and conclude with the Championship game on March 20th.
