Women’s Division II Announces Final Ranking, Confirms 16 Teams Set to Attend 2022 National Championships

 

TROY, Mich. – March 1, 2022 – The American Collegiate Hockey Association’s Women’s Division II (W2) today announced the sixth and final ranking of the 2021-2022 season. The results, included below, are based on a computer ranking of all games played and reported by Sunday, Feb. 27, 2022 – a total of 375 games were played between W2 teams this season.

 

The division’s 2022 ACHA National Championships will begin on Tuesday, March 15 in St. Louis, Missouri, and will include 16 teams from across W2’s regions: Northeast (4), Southeast (5), Central (4), and West (3). “The last Women’s Division II National Championship took place in 2019, and we are thrilled to be hosting this event again in 2022 to give teams the opportunity to compete for a National Championship title,” said Taylor Hadley, ACHA Women’s Division II Commissioner. “Teams across the ACHA faced a variety of challenges out of their control this season, and it was encouraging to witness team leaders work together to make as many games happen as possible. Congratulations to each team that ultimately qualified for the 2022 National Championships! We look forward to seeing everyone in St. Louis.”

This year marks the 14th National Championships for ACHA Women’s Division II, which was established in 2006, following six years of play by the first women’s division in the ACHA which started in 2000. The reigning W2 champion is Assiniboine Community College, who won the title in 2019 in Dallas, Texas. Past ACHA champions can be viewed here.
