AMERICAN COLLEGIATE HOCKEY ASSOCIATION ANNOUNCES ROSTER FOR WORLD CUP OF HOCKEY TEAM UNITED STATES

TEAM SET TO COMPETE IN 2023 WORLD CUP OF UNIVERSITY HOCKEY IN ROMANIA

TROY, Mich. – (February 15, 2023) – The American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) announced the 23-player roster for ACHA Team United States that will compete in the 2023 World Cup of University Hockey, April 14-19, 2023 in Cârța, Romania.

 

The complete roster, which includes three goaltenders, seven defensemen and thirteen forwards, is comprised of three graduate students, six seniors, six juniors, four sophomores, and four freshmen.

 

Liberty University leads all schools with five representatives on the team, while Adrian College has four representatives, University of Arizona, University of Central Oklahoma, Indiana Tech, and Minot State University each have two representatives, and University of Nevada-Las Vegas, University of Michigan-Dearborn, Ohio University, University of Pittsburgh, Robert Morris University, and Roosevelt University each have one representative.

 

Eleven different states are represented on the roster, led by Michigan with nine representatives, while Minnesota has four representatives, Illinois has two representatives, and the states of California, Florida, Georgia, New Jersey, North Carolina, North Dakota, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin each have one representative.

 

The group includes the top two points per game scorers in Men’s Division 1, forwards Roman Kraemer (Pittsburgh, Pa./Robert Morris University) and Brendan West (Plymouth, Mich./University of Michigan-Dearborn).  West is averaging 2.42 points per game with 25 goals, 38 assists, and 63 total points in 26 games played while Kraemer is averaging 2.37 points per game with 30 goals, 34 assists, and 64 total points in 27 games played.  On defense, the top points per game scorer in Men’s Division 1, Dakota Bohn (Saginaw, Mich./Adrian College), will anchor the blueline.  Bohn is averaging 1.35 points per game with 9 goals, 33 assists, and 42 total points in 31 games.

 

In goal, the team will be led by NCAA Division III transfer Landon Pavlisin (San Clemente, Calif./University of Nevada-Las Vegas), who sports 11 wins, one loss, a 1.99 goals against average, and a stellar 94.2 save percentage.

 

The freshman group includes the fourth best points per game scorers at both forward and defense in Men’s Division 1, forward Laker Aldridge (Lake Orion, Mich./Ohio University) and defensemen Lazarus Kaebel (Prior Lake, Minn./Liberty University).  Aldridge is averaging 1.89 points per game with 24 goals, 27 assists, and 51 total points in 27 games played while Kaebel is averaging 0.96 points per game with 7 goals, 15 assists, and 22 total points in 23 games played

 

NOTES:  Gary Astalos (Adrian, Mich.) is serving as head coach of the 2023 ACHA Team United States alongside assistant coaches Mike Rivera (Edmond, Okla.) and Frank DiCristofaro (Fort Wayne, Ind.) … At the 2023 World Cup of University Hockey, ACHA Team United States is competing in Group A alongside Hungary, Sweden, and Slovakia … All games from the 2023 World Cup of University Hockey will be played at the Felcsíki Ice Skating Rink in Cârța and will be streamed live worldwide.
