FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Former Indiana Tech men’s ice hockey player Francesco Corona has signed a standard player contract with the Tulsa Oilers of the ECHL as the team released its season-opening roster Thursday.

Corona spent three-plus seasons with the Warriors, tallying 113 points in 75 games for the Orange and Black. Originally from Barrie, Ontario, Corona garnered First-Team All-Conference honors as a senior and was an alternate captain during the 2019-20 season as well. He helped the Warriors win the 2019 Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Tournament title and 2019 NAIHA National Tournament in addition to qualifying for the 2020 ACHA Division I National Championship.

Following graduation he played one game for Muik Hockey in Finland.

Corona is the first player from the Indiana Tech men’s ice hockey program to be signed by an ECHL team to an entry level contract for the regular season.
