Jimmies to join WCCHA beginning in 2022-23

From University of Jamestown Athletics

Heading into its fourth season, the University of Jamestown ACHA D2 men’s hockey program has been accepted into the Western Collegiate Club Hockey Association (WCCHA). The WCCHA fields 14 teams with 10 from Minnesota, two from Wisconsin, and two from North Dakota.

“It’s an honor to be accepted into the WCCHA on such a short notice,” said coach Blake Zabinski.  “It is a huge step for the D2 team to take and be able to compete for a Carla Berg Memorial Cup. We want to continue to grow hockey in Jamestown. We would like to thank WCCHA Commissioner Ryan Donovan for this opportunity.”

The conference tournament will host the top eight teams and plays a traditional tournament schedule. The winner will receive an automatic bid to the ACHA D2 Central Regionals. With the D2 team gaining WCCHA membership status, they now join the D1 men’s and women’s teams in their own respective conferences.
