Troy, MI. (4/17/24): The Men's Division 3 of the American Collegiate Hockey Association is proud to announces the 2023/2024 Community Service Award winner is Colorado Mesa University.
During the Maverick's 7th Annual Pink the Rink Cancer Charity Game/Event we raised $32,128 for our local St. Mary's Hospital Cancer Assistance Fund. The game was held on Nov. 4th, 2023 against Northern Arizona University, and was attended by a sold out crowd on 1,100 fans. The game/event included a kick-off brewery/
dinner event, selling T-Shirts, raffle tickets for special "Pink the Rink" game worn Jerseys sponsored by US Bank, 50-50 draw, a Silent Auction, and shoot a puck contest, and well as other intermission games. The CMU Hockey players coordinate, sell, and organize the entire event with administrative help the coach, and athletic
director. Their efforts helped to raise a record-breaking amount raised of $32,128. This event helped to raise $135,000 during the past seven years.
Colorado Mesa University, along with the other Division winners are the finalists for the 2023/2024 ACHA National Community Service Award. The winner will be announced later this month.
