Colorado School of Mines Club Hockey will open its 2026-27 campaign on the road this Friday, Sept. 11, traveling to Fort Collins for an exhibition matchup against Colorado State University. The puck is scheduled to drop at 8:30 p.m.
The exhibition will give the Orediggers their first opportunity to return to game action as they begin preparations for the upcoming season. Mines enters the 2026-27 campaign looking to build on a successful 2025-26 season that saw the Orediggers finish with a 17-8-2 record and earn a final national ranking of No. 24.
Mines also found success throughout last season in tournament play, capturing the Route 66 Showcase championship after going 2-1 against a competitive field. The Orediggers also closed the regular season with a pair of victories over Colorado Mesa at Apex Ice Arena.
Friday’s exhibition will provide Mines with an early opportunity to test itself against another collegiate opponent while continuing to build chemistry and prepare for the regular season.
Colorado State will host the Orediggers in the first game of the new campaign, giving Mines an early road test as the team begins its pursuit of another successful season.
The exhibition is scheduled for an 8:30 p.m. puck drop Friday, Sept. 11, in Fort Collins.
